What exam day is really like
The mock trains the content and the timing. This page prepares you for the rest — the parts most people don't expect. Administered by the Państwowa Komisja ds. Poświadczania Znajomości Języka Polskiego jako Obcego — exams run by 65 authorized centers in Poland and abroad.
It's two days, not one sitting
The written part runs on Saturday and the oral part on Sunday. Plan for a whole weekend. The written modules are taken in one block, in a fixed order, consecutively with short breaks.
The written part — fixed order, timed per module
The four written modules are always taken in this order, each under its own clock:
- Rozumienie ze słuchu (Listening)
- Rozumienie tekstów pisanych (Reading)
- Poprawność gramatyczna (Grammar)
- Pisanie (Writing)
Per-level written durations:
- B1: Listening comprehension 25m · Grammatical correctness 45m · Reading comprehension 45m · Writing 75m — up to ~190 min total, plus ~10–15 min breaks between modules.
- B2: Listening comprehension 40m · Grammatical correctness 60m · Reading comprehension 60m · Writing 90m — up to ~250 min total, plus ~10–15 min breaks between modules.
- C1: Listening comprehension 40m · Grammatical correctness 60m · Reading comprehension 60m · Writing 90m — up to ~250 min total, plus ~10–15 min breaks between modules.
- C2: Listening comprehension 40m · Grammatical correctness 60m · Reading comprehension 90m · Writing 90m — up to ~290 min total, plus ~10–15 min breaks between modules.
When a module's time is up, your answer sheet is collected and you cannot go back to it. There is a passport/photo-ID check at each collection.
Closed book, on paper, by hand
No dictionaries and no electronic devices.You write on printed answer sheets by hand — there is no on-screen interface. Our mock lets you type for convenience, but we recommend also drafting the writing task on paper under the same time limit, because handwriting speed is different (we can't mark paper).
Listening: some recordings play only once
Recordings are played twice — except Zadanie I at C2 (and Task 1 at B1), which is played only once. Read the questions first, listen for keywords, and never leave a sub-item blank (there is no negative marking). The mock enforces the real play counts.
The oral part — draw and prepare
On the second day you draw one of three task sets (losowanie), get about 5 minutes to prepare (note key points, not full sentences), then perform before a two-person commission. Avoid long silences — use phrases like „Moim zdaniem…", „Z jednej strony…" to keep going. The oral is graded on task fulfilment plus grammar, vocabulary/style and pronunciation.
The pass rule is all-or-nothing
You must score ≥50% (B1) / ≥60% (B2–C2) in every single module, including the oral. No averaging, no compensation between modules. Miss the threshold in one module and the whole exam is failed — no partial certificate, no module carry-over. You re-sit the entire exam and pay the full fee again (no mandatory waiting period).
Results and the certificate
Results arrive roughly within ~3 months, by email from the centre. The certificate is issued within 30 days of the exam report (a per-certificate fee of ~€20), and it is valid for life — it never expires.
